High Molecular Polyethylene PE Sheet Water Storage Tank for Engineering Applications with Wear Resistance
Characteristics:
Odorless, low density, with strength, stiffness, hardness, and heat resistance superior to low-pressure polyethylene. It can be used at around 100°C. It possesses good electrical properties and high-frequency insulation, unaffected by humidity. However, it becomes brittle at low temperatures, is not wear-resistant, and is prone to aging. Suitable for manufacturing general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant components, and insulating parts. Common acids, alkalis, and organic solvents have almost no effect on it, making it suitable for use in food utensils.
Production Methods:
① Slurry Method. Polymerization in a diluent (such as hexane) is the earliest industrialized and still the highest-yield method to date.
② Liquid-Phase Bulk Method. Polymerization in liquid propylene at 70°C and 3MPa.
③ Gas-Phase Method. Polymerization under conditions where propylene is in a gaseous state. The latter two methods do not use diluents, have shorter processes, and lower energy consumption. The liquid-phase bulk method has now demonstrated a latecomer advantage.
